We strive to provide therapy frequency (dosage) according to evidence-based practice that recommends more frequent weekly sessions of shorter durations (e.g., 2-4 times each week/20-30 minutes). Less frequent therapy dosage is not as effective for lasting change.

TELETHERAPY through our Zoom platform allows us to offer guidance anywhere in the world! Research shows teletherapy can be as effective, or better, than in-person services,. It’s especially well-suited for many people with Down syndrome. Their visual learning strengths, comfort with screens, and ability to sustain targeted focus make virtual sessions highly productive. Teletherapy brings therapy into natural environments (home, school, work), reduces travel and cancellations, simplifies making up missed sessions, and supports practical technology and communication skill-building (scheduling, logging into Zoom, sharing photos/videos, reading/responding to emails and texts). It also enables flexible delivery formats—individual, group, or mixed—and meaningful peer learning opportunities that enhance engagement and carryover into daily life.

Speech and language services for people with Down syndrome are difficult to find. Even more difficult are services for teens and adults that target functional goals like forming and maintaining relationships, job readiness, and independence skills such as cooking, speaking on the phone, and using email. The goal of therapy should always be autonomous independence, regardless of age and skill level!
Most of the time, autonomy begins with speech. Clear speech is essential for effective communication. It allows individuals to express their thoughts, feelings, and needs. For children with Down syndrome, developing speech clarity can enhance their ability to interact with peers, family, and educators to foster social connections and emotional well-being.
As individuals with Down syndrome grow into adulthood, clear speech becomes crucial for self-advocacy. Adults need to communicate their desires, needs, and rights effectively in various settings, including the workplace, healthcare, and community engagement. Speech clarity empowers them to be heard and respected.
In educational settings, clear speech contributes to better learning outcomes. Children who can articulate their thoughts clearly are more likely to engage in classroom discussions, ask questions, and express their understanding of material. This can lead to increased confidence and academic achievement.
Clear communication is foundational to building and maintaining relationships. Whether with family, friends, or colleagues, the ability to convey thoughts and feelings clearly helps foster deeper connections and mutual understanding.

LSVT LOUD for KIDS
The application of LSVT LOUD to the speech needs of those with Down syndrome uses principles of neuroplasticity to achieve new speaking habits that transform how those with Down syndrome process and use speech to communicate. Principles of neuroplasticity refer to the speech habits we use when speaking. The only way to develop clear speech or improve speech and language use is to practice speech and verbal language!
LSVT LOUD has been adapted for those with Down syndrome to provide the speech practice necessary to achieve speech clarity!
