Clinical Speech-Language Pathologists work in many settings and enjoy treating a range of specialties. Unlike nonprofits or research facilities, such as Universities, clinical SLPs rely upon rates set by state and federal insurance brokers. Speech-Language Pathologists treat every delay and disorder of speech, language, feeding, behavior, memory, cognition, social connunication. This means those with full caselaods rarely receive raises or bonuses for their work. They are also rarely seen in research positions due to being master’s level clinicians. Thi is particularly important today because those of us in private practice who work with moderate-to-severe delays and disorders, we are only paid for the codes we are given to bill. rely on Medicare and Medicaid
